13 South Productions

Starting out in New Orleans after Katrina, our transition from another world entirely into film happened by chance. In the nearly two decades since, we have created multiple film companies to serve the needs of productions across the Southeast. We have developed this craft much in the same way we did before… hard work.

We are proud to have moved our operations back to the beautiful state of Mississippi. We love working toward building film here in our home state alongside our neighbors and friends. Let us help you learn what we already know: Mississippi is a great place be!

We’re fans of the strange, dark and mysterious …

Having said that, our brick-and-mortar location sits on the side of MS HWY 13 in a building whose initial construction was in the late 20's. A bank and the local pharmacy (with LOTS of storied history) were its beginnings, and we still have the piano located in the main office, whose last tuning date written inside reads, 1898 Chicago.

Through painstaking renovation, we saved the history and the spirit of the place. It fulfills one of our major goals to return home to our beloved state of Mississippi and make films. A fitting location complete with a few late night odd happenings … which we don't mind.

Years and a steep learning curve, taught by some stand-up folks at IATSE, have allowed 13 South Productions to offer very favorable terms contracts for your show. We work closely with the unions and have the ability and know-how to answer those difficult questions and navigate the oftentimes ever-changing currents of union regulations.
